2019

"
It is only when God comes amidst men as an Avathar, that He will
be close to man, and will be able to set an example to human beings.
Only then, he will be able to correct the ways of human beings. The
real connection that should exist between man and man is always
demonstrated by an Avathar. Because God comes as an Avathar in human
form, man is able to see and experience some ideal examples, in
real-life situations. It is natural in that context that God takes
the human form in Rama and creates situations where man learns the
virtue of adherence to dharma"

Ram Navmi and Vaisakhi Celebrations
|
|
|
|
On
Sunday 14th
April we will be celebrating the festivals of
Ram Navmi and Vaisakhi from 9:00am
to 11:30am at Soar
Valley College.
As Swami reminds us "The birthday of Rama is celebrated in order
to remind us of the ideals for which He stood. We have to ponder over
the ideals set before us by Rama, Lakshmana, Bharata, and Satrughna
and also by Kausalya, Sumitra, and Kaikeyi….It is your good fortune
that you are able to listen to the sacred story of Rama and sing His
glory."
The programme will be in two parts and we are fortunate to have with
us a guest speaker Divij
Desai who is a former student from Swami's Institute
who did his BSc at the Whitefield Campus and then his MBA in
Prashanti Nilayam. With Swami's grace he also got an
opportunity to physically serve Swami in close quarters between 2004
and 2008. So please do join us for what will be a memorable
programme.

|
|
|
In the second half of the programme we will learn
more about the Sikh festival of Vaiskahi and be singing various
bhajans remembering the Gurus from Sikhism. As Swami
reminds us “Sankeerthanam (congregational singing of bhajans)
aims at the well-being of the whole universe. This is also
described as Saamaajika bhajans (community singing). This method
of singing bhajans was first initiated by Guru Nanak, the founder
of Sikhism."

"For
both Paramatma and His creation, there is neither a beginning nor an
end. The act of creation and the creator are permanent and they go on
forever. Conditions may change, times may change but divinity will
never change—creator and act of creation are permanent."
On
Wednesday
24th April we will commemorate Swami's Mahasamadhi
with a special programme of bhajans, personal experiences and
songs. Please do join us from 7:30pm to 9:00pm at Soar Valley College.
|
|
|
|
|
Please do join us on Easter Sunday where we will be
joined by Chaplain Graham Thomas who will deliver his Easter
Sunday message. The Easter programme will be on Sunday 21st April from
9:00am to
11:00:am at Soar Valley College (with
hot cross buns and hot drinks afterwards!)

National Sathya Sai Human Values Day
|
|
|
|
On
6th April 2019, songs and chants of the five Human Values filled the
air, as Leicester City Centre came alive with an uplifting and
momentous Walk with Values, followed by a high tempo Human Values
Concert, on a chilly but dry Saturday morning. The Right
Honourable Ross Grant, Leicester’s Lord Mayor, warmly welcomed
everyone and said "We are all working to build a better society
through the sorts of values we are celebrating today through love,
trust, generosity, care and compassion. So, I think its important
that we do celebrate those positives at a time when it is so easy to
think about the negatives in society.” Thank you to everyone
who came to support the event and to all our volunteers who helped to
make it such a success.
