Tiny Forest and Tree Planting Project – Bedfordshire

The Sri Sathya Sai Organisation UK invites you to be part of a unique Tree Planting service opportunity – creating our very own ‘Tiny Forest’ with over 2000 trees.

Our Tiny Forest will feature a noticeboard with Swami’s name and message marking this special activity in the area.

The initial tree and shrubs planting will take place on two different occasions:

Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 January 2024

Saturday 10 February 2024

More information and the Registration link is available on the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation UK website

On Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 February 2024 Regions 3 and 4 devotees came together with the National Team to plant trees and shrub samplings in Bedfordshire for Swami’s Prema Tharu Tree Planting Initiative, leading up to Swami’s centenary in November 2025.

A group of about 18 volunteers met at a place called Marston Vale Visitor Centre and walked a short distance to Marston Moretaine, a place dedicated for tree planting.

In the morning of Tuesday 23 February we started with prayers and then Jo Roberts (the Forest Ranger) showed us all how to dig and plant tree samplings.  Though it was a raining and muddy day, but this did not deter the enthusiasm on any of the volunteers digging and planting samplings.  All the tree samplings were all planted in the morning session, much to the surprise of Jo.

The vast open nature fields are beautiful and have been named Queenswood after Queen Elizabeth II adjoining to the existing Kingswood, which has already fully grown.

The next day Wednesday 24 February 15 volunteers came together to plant a further 400 tree samplings and shrubs in the same area.  Again, we started with prayers and bhajans, and it was a much better day with blue skies and sunshine, and with the eagerness and enthusiasm of volunteers, we managed to finish the work by early afternoon.  We were also lovingly provided with light refreshments during break time as the weather was kind to us.  This gave us the opportunity to meet with volunteers from different regions and work together.

It was a blissful enjoyable and uplifting experience in Sai’s beautiful nature which shall be enjoyed for many years to come.
