3.        On Sunday 26 December (Boxing Day), Soar Valley College is closed, so on that day we will have online virtual bhajans on YouTube.

Going forward, we have started reviewing the risk to us, of the new COVID variant. As you know, this variant is very infectious and the number of people getting infected has rocketed in recent days. The fear is that the case numbers are going to continue to rise.
As a Centre we have to make a decision on whether we should continue with bhajans here at SVC, or go back to online bhajans. Clearly there is a risk to everyone attending here, and over the last 3 months, due to all of us following the strict guidelines we introduced, and with Swami’s grace, we have continued to keep everyone safe.
Scientists & the medics have told us that this variant is different and that we have to be more careful. This means we may return to online bhajans until situation improves. We will inform you all as soon as we have made a decision.

In the meantime, have a merry Christmas and best wishes for a peaceful New Year.

1.       SSE name change Bal Vikas – message from UK Council
With effect from 20 October, we have the pleasure of announcing that the National SSE Wing has been renamed the National Bal Vikas (SSE) Wing.
This change of name does not alter what we do – everything continues as before – but, as with our close links to Prasanthi Nilayam via the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council, it signifies that we are going back to the source, using the “more correct name” that Bhagawan Himself used. At the same time, the term ‘SSE’ remains, to help avoid any confusion.
SSE name change to Bal Vikas – YouTubeShort video announcing this change – Zainesh can we please include this as part of the announcement. Thank you.

Below is an extract from Jaybhai’s message on the study group and I found it enlightening. Please include in the announcements if you feel it’s appropriate.
As all of you celebrate and rejoice in the festival of Ganesh Chathurthi – please be reminded of the true inner significance of Ganesh Chathurthi.

It is not Ganesha’s birth that you should be celebrating but rather you own ‘spiritual birth or awakening ‘! Ganapathi is the Lord of the intellect and the higher knowledge.

The question may be asked: “Are the intellect and the higher knowledge present in the external world or are they to be found within man?”

The answer is that He is present within each of us. There is no need to seek Ganapathi in the outside world because Ganapathi dwells in every human being in the form of intellect and wisdom.

I wish you all a spiritual Ganesh Chathurthi.

1.    Global Service Day – ‘Thank you’ to everyone who helped with gifts we offered to our guests for Global Service Day. We’ve received many very good comments from our guests on how much they appreciated that we are still thinking of them during this time. Thank you once again.

2.    Hope you enjoyed our celebration of the Eid-Ul-Adha festival and the special message about the significance of this festival in the Islam calendar.

3.    We will celebrate Guru Poornima on Sunday next week. The programme will include special bhajans & will include ‘live’ reciting of 108 names of our Swami, performed by up to 4 couples.
We can all participate in this at home, by joining in the puja, using Swami’s photo, & offering flower petals or rice at the lotus feet of our Swami.

4.    Bhajans at Soar Valley College. As you know, the government are lifting most of the COVID restrictions from Monday next week. Our UK council has also now given the go ahead to commence ‘live’ bhajans at Sai Centres, subject to some strict conditions being met on safeguarding our devotees.

As we have mentioned a number of times over the last few weeks, we have been reviewing what we may have to put in place when we return to ‘live’ bhajans at SVC and this is now being discussed in detail. We hope to finalise our plans over the next two/three weeks and then we will be able to announce more details about return to live bhajans at SVC. Our plans are to return to ‘live’ bhajans from Sunday 22 August.

In the meantime, if anyone has any questions or concerns, please raise them with our Centre coordinators.

Bhajans by SSE children were beautifully sung and the video SSE children’s procession from a previous year was lovely.

2.    Project Sai Breath – From the recent media coverage, it is evident that there is a desperate need for help in India as they face shortages in medical items, particularly oxygen.
As an organisation we were considering how best to serve our brothers and sisters in India during the difficult times they are faced with.

They have several projects which include the installation of Oxygen generating plants to support Primary Health in various areas across the country where there is a need. This could be 20 – 40 bed hospitals with lack of both ICU and Oxygen facilities.

Our organisation has also put together a Sri Sathya Sai Covid Seva Support Kit in rural and tribal villages. The plan is to distribute these kits which will contain immunity support tablets such as Zinc and Vitamin C. This will go with a picture of Swami with the quote, “Why Fear When I am Here” and Vibhuti Prasadam.

Another area they are looking to support is to place portable Oxygen concentrators in each state for emergency purposes to save lives as we see Oxygen is the most precious commodity during these turbulent times of the pandemic.

With Bhagawan’s Grace we have been given this opportunity to support the ‘Project Sai Breath’ initiative that will help our brothers and sisters affected by COVID in India.

As always, projects in Bhagawan’s organisation are voluntary offerings that are generated through the practice of ceiling on desires. To find out more details on how contribute to the Sai Breath projects, please contact our Centre coordinators

Read Ketan’s message –

Dearest Brothers and Sisters,
Jai Sai Ram
What an inspiring weekend we have just had with our very first virtual National Office Bearers and Active Workers Conference with the theme ‘All are One, Be alike to Everyone’. Hope for those of you who attended, enjoyed the conference and found it useful.
As mentioned during the vote of thanks, our Young Adults of the United Kingdom have offered an e-book entitled ‘Eternal Bond’ to the Divine Lotus Feet of our Dearest Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The e-book is a collection of life experiences Young Adults have had with Bhagawan whilst in the physical form and in their daily lives. We hope that this book will inspire future generations of SSE students and Young Adults to continually feel the guiding love of Bhagawan in every moment of their lives. We invite one and all to read and share this wonderful e-book and we pray that you derive the same joy in reading it as it was when it was written.

Please click the link here to access to read the book on any device:
