Mother’s Day Celebrations Sunday 15 March 2026

What is the significance of Mother’s Day in your life? I think that it is really important to celebrate it as all the mums deserve at-least one day in a whole year when they are appreciated and loved by their children.

I feel that Mother’s Day is all about appreciating and giving back all that your mother has done for you, in-fact it should not just be your mother, it should be each and every mother in this universe. Mother’s Day is an occasion to honour love, care and sacrifices of mothers. In today’s fast-paced world, where people are often occupied in their work and responsibilities, Mother’s Day gives us the opportunity to reconnect with our mothers and show them how much they mean to us. It is a reminder for us to pause in our busy lives and recognise everything our mothers do for us. It also reminds us to value not just our own mother, but all the other mother figures- grandmothers, aunts and even teachers.

So, by all this, it means you should all celebrate Mother’s Day as it would really make all the mothers happy and they would feel appreciated. Just like this, The Leicester Sai Centre prepared a Mother’s Day program which truly reflected these values. All the children participated enthusiastically and trust me, even the youngest ones shared heartfelt reasons why they love their mother. It was such a beautiful and an emotional moment, as each child expressed their gratitude in their own innocent and sincere way. This made all the mums so proud of themselves for doing all that they do for their children, and even all the children felt that they were successful in making their mums happy. It was such an emotional moment for everyone. The programme brought everyone together and after we ended by giving our mothers a rose shaped candle and a sweet card that we all made in our classes. We also had a little presentation about the 5 Universal Mothers:

  1. Deha-maata (Mother who gave birth to the body.
  2. Bhoo-maata (Mother water)
  3. Go-maata (Mother cow who provides us nourishing milk)
  4. Desha-maata (Mother Earth)
  5. Veda-maata (Heritage of spiritual wisdom which is Vedas, which guides the purpose of life).
