Children were accompanied by their families on Saturday 23rd September between 10.30am to 3.00pm to Goshalla in Leicester.
This trip reminds us Swami Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Gokulam in Puttarparthi, Swami named this Gokulam as Gokul Brindhavan. (More information about this by following the link at the end of this report).
Swami provided shelter for many cows in a loving and caring environment and treated them close to nature, providing them with all necessities and supervised by Veterinarians. Swami often referred to cows as mother, and the significance of worshipping Goumata.
Goshalla in Leicester, provide care and shelter to farm animals, especially cows to provide a unique opportunity to conduct “Gou Seva”. It is located in a very pleasant and peaceful country side location in Beeby, Leicestershire.
Children and families had an opportunity to see these cows kept in secure and safe environment, as much as possible in their own habitat. Children had a chance to closely observe their characteristics, feed them with vegetables and above all, a learning opportunity for them in looking after animals. We also note Swami’s saying “Love All, Serve All” extends to animal care in this way, showing us to treat all beings as same regardless of their differences as the inner Atma is same.
This was a beautiful autumn day carpeted with coloured autumn leaves and breath of fresh air. Children and families shared their packed lunches in a picnic style serving. Overall, a fantastic outing and an opportunity to meet some Sai families from other Sai Centres too.
